6 Ideas to Finding Your Inner Voice

Here are some ideas to help you access your inner voice and start expressing yourself !!!!!!

Slow Yourself Down- When we slow down, we are able to tap into ourselves, which is how we can find the answers within that we are searching for. This may mean turning off your electronics for a period of time, taking time to meditate daily, practice yoga or Tai Chi, or go for a daily walk. Slowing yourself down will help to quiet your mind and allow you to listen to your inner voice.

Change Your Story- Due to life events we have all learned stories about who we are, what we are able to do or not do, and how worthy we are. We can chose to identify with these limiting beliefs (I am not smart enough, good enough, I don’t deserve to be happy, etc…..) or we can rewrite our stories based on what we believe about ourselves coming from a place of power. We have move from limiting ourselves to feeling confident and courageous.

Own Your Uniqueness- You are a unique human being. You are your own talents, beliefs, strengths, and capabilities. Everyone has something to offer the world. Learning to identify, accept, and own your innate gifts will lead you to share them with the world.

Cultivate Confidence- Creating confidence takes practice and often there are some failures involved. Continuing to tell yourself that you can’t do something will never help you to believe that you can. It is impossible to succeed if you are not willing to take a risk and believe in yourself. You can use affirmations, focus and visualize the things that you want, or make a vision board that depicts what you want to bring into your life.

Journal or Write- Take time and allow yourself to freely write and express yourself. This practice will help you to see patterns and themes. What themes appear over and over? What are the ideas that excite you, fill you with joy? Spend a few minutes each day and allow yourself to process your thoughts without being influenced by others. Let your inner voice come alive.

Don’t Allow FEAR to Hold You Back- It is so easy to fall into the clutches of fear and stay stuck. We allow fear to tell us we need more experience, more money, or more time….The truth is we have to stop making excuses based on fear and push past the false limiting beliefs. We have to identify the fears and notice how they are holding us back and take steps to move beyond our fear.

    Hi Kim-
    Do you remember me?
    I’m stuck- stagnant without a sense of who I really am or where I belong. I would love to learn more about how to unlock my potential and to not be such a self-saboteur! I see much value in Eastern philosophy and would be interested in learning more. I have been in and out of therapy- which helps-but I have not found me and what I’m looking for.
    Do you have the time or energy to take on a flailing recovering addict and anxious/depressed mom?
